This ensures structural elements & services are not damaged during construction activities
Accurate locating & marking of underground services using CERTLOC Certified Locating Professionals & industry-standard electromagnetic & GPR methodologies. This service assists in preventing strikes to buried utilities, pipes & critical infrastructure during excavation or intrusive works
Detailed scanning of concrete structures to support engineering assessments, structural analysis or verification of construction requirements. This includes mapping reinforcement layouts, slab thickness & subsurface anomalies to inform design, remediation or compliance needs
High-resolution 3D scanning of concrete structures or field locations to generate enhanced subsurface visualisation for improved interpretation & planning, enabling improved interpretation, planning & engineering decision-making

Projects

Barangaroo, Sydney CBD
Barangaroo Sydney is a once in a lifetime urban transformation on Sydney's spectacular harbour front, representing the largest waterside project currently under construction worldwide. Our technicians performed many hours of Concrete Scanning for Lend Lease. Scope of works included locating PT cables, steel reinforcement as well as service locating including power and communications. Due to the high profile nature of the site the compliance standards are greater than ever encountered, forcing all parties to perform at their optimum level.

Norwest Rail Link
Part of the Sydney Metro upgrade, the Norwest Rail Link provides a major transport link between the North West, Western Sydney Airport, South West and Greater Macarthur region. The initial rollout of the Northwest project including 36 km of rail line from Rouse Hill to Chatswood, eight newly constructed railway stations and five upgraded stations has now expanded to upgrades and expansions across the greater Sydney region. Our technicians continue to perform Concrete Scanning and Utility Locating at various location throughout this project.

What is GPR Concrete Scanning?
GPR Concrete Scanning is a non-destructive method that uses Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to identify reinforcement, post-tension ducts, conduits & other embedded features within concrete elements - without cutting, drilling or damaging the structure.
What is Utility Service Locating?
Utility Service Locating identifies & marks underground utilities (such as water, gas, electrical, sewer & communications) before excavation or intrusive works. We use electromagnetic (EM) locating and GPR to detect subsurface assets without disturbing the ground.
What types of projects do you handle?
We support a wide range of works, including: - GPR concrete/slab scanning - Underground utility locating & mapping - Concrete structural analysis - 3D concrete imaging - Underground cable & pipe locating - Post-tension (PT), reinforcement & void detection - Electronic Hazard Identification (EHI) scanning
What items can you detect?
Depending on site conditions, we may identify: - post-tension cables - reinforcement (reo/rebar) - electrical conduits - metallic & non-metallic pipes - cables - voids & anomalies All results are indicative & subject to environmental & structural limitations.
What materials can you scan through?
We can scan through materials such as concrete, asphalt & rock. Scan reliability depends on material properties, moisture levels & surface conditions.
What methods of scanning do you use?
We primarily use: - Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) - Electromagnetic (EM) locating These methods form part of our broader Electronic Hazard Identification (EHI) approach.
